Always willing to put his body on the line, Casillas has had plenty of successful one on one situations.He made his international debut against Sweden in 2000, earning a spot for the national team in Euro 2000.
Two years later, he represented Spain in the World Cup, in a much more successful campaign in terms of playing time and victories, stopping 3 penalties in that tournament alone.
In Euro 2004, Spain were eliminated from the group stages itself, when surprise champions, Greece, and runners-up Portugal going through the next round.Casillas' Real Madrid team also started to fall below expectations, not winning the league for two years in a row.
